La Chimera d'Albegna
Every tradition starts smallIn 1999, the Florentine-based Becherini family relocated to Maremma to rediscover a family heritage of producing beautiful wine. With the passion to create a modern Tuscan winery that honoured tradition, the Becherinis worked tirelessly to realize their dream of releasing the first vintage in 2008. Today, La Chimera d’Albegna is available throughout Italy and across the world. We produce 100,000 bottles per year. The winery takes its name from the river Albegna, located in the province of Grosseto, which flows near our estate. The name also derives from the Chimera, a mythical Etruscan animal depicted in our emblem and on most of our wine labels.
