Masot
The winery
Sarmede, the fairytale village that annually hosts the famous International Children's Illustration Exhibition, is a collection of villages and stone houses nestled on the slopes of Cansiglio, north of Conegliano, nestled between hills and Alpine foothills. Here, amidst meadows, woods, and vineyards, the Da Ros family has always lived. It was here, on the family land, that Andrea and Daniele Da Ros decided to found their winery, "Masot – Fiabe di vino," in 2009, drawing on the teachings of their grandfather Arturo and what they learned from students at the prestigious "Cerletti" wine school in Conegliano.
Story
Andrea and Daniele decided to emphasize their ties to family tradition by choosing an emblematic and symbolic name for their company: "masot," or "small landowner," is in fact the historical nickname of the Da Ros family, people who have made love for the land and respect for its rhythms their guiding values.
Wine Fairytales
Now imagine the wine born from that fairytale land: a rich, imaginative, convivial wine with a happy ending, enriched by lingering aromas, scents, and scents. This is no longer imagination, but the discovery of our wines, each with a different story to tell, to savor, and, above all, to share.
The Estate
Masot is a winery with approximately twenty hectares of vineyards and produces 35,000 bottles per year, with significant growth potential. The winery has been certified organic since 2020.
The soil in the hilliest part is predominantly clayey with a limestone base, while toward the center of the town, of alluvial origin, it is more silty with a greater presence of sediment. Prosecco dominates the production, with nine hectares of Glera, followed by international varieties such as Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. The recovery of the native Boschera and Verdiso varieties, which have been included in the company's labels since 2018, is noteworthy. The red wine, a Bordolese blend, belonging to the Colli di Conegliano DOCG, is made with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Marzemino grapes.
The Cellar
This winery is dedicated to valorizing local grapevines, such as Nebbiolo, Erbaluce and Vespolina, used to produce higher quality wines. The philosophy of the winery is to produce wines paying great attention to naturally growing high quality grapes in proprietary vineyards and great care to winemaking. The vineyards are managed almost entirely manually and respectfully of nature. No chemical weeding or treatments are used, but they practice green manure, fertilization with microelements and treatments with natural products.
