The Culmination of Nero d’Avola Research
Maria Costanza Riserva Rosso represents the culmination of our agronomic and oenological research into Nero d’Avola clones. Building on the success and tradition of Maria Costanza Rosso, this wine seeks to open new paths in the interpretation of Sicily’s greatest native grape variety.

The Growing Environment
Maria Costanza Riserva Rosso comes from a small area within Contrada Milici, selected from among the different sub-areas used for the production of the winery’s historic Maria Costanza Rosso. The selection was based both on the distinctive characteristics of the clone planted there and on the specific soil and microclimatic conditions.

The site is characterized by strongly calcareous soils and vines with exceptional varietal expression. These factors led to particularly rigorous green harvesting in the vineyard, aimed at maximizing the aromatic and phenolic potential of the grapes. Meticulous attention and daily care are devoted to the vineyard, following its development step by step until harvest.

Tasting Notes
Deep, intense red, almost impenetrable in color. The nose reveals pronounced spicy notes, green pepper and unsweetened cocoa bean, followed by fresh red fruits such as blueberry and currant. Delicate toasted notes reminiscent of incense emerge on the finish.

On the palate, it is full-bodied, intense and enveloping. The tannins are firm, rich and of excellent quality. Its structure and freshness provide remarkable persistence and drinkability.

Food Pairings
Excellent with vegetable-based dishes, roasted meats, game and medium- to long-aged cheeses.
