APPELLATION: Sicilia I.G.T. – Rosso
GRAPE VARIETIES: Nero d’Avola, blended with a selection of different red grape varieties from the winery’s experimental vineyard
SOIL TYPE: Contrada Fondirò, Munti area: dark clay soils, highly mineral-rich.
TRAINING SYSTEM: Trellis system with spurred cordon and Guyot pruning.
HARVEST PERIOD: September.
HARVESTING METHOD: Manual harvesting into 14 kg crates.
WINEMAKING: The grapes undergo a 24–48-hour cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by fermentation in horizontal and vertical fermentation tanks.
MATURATION: 12 months in stainless-steel tanks.
A Fresh and Original Expression of Nero d’Avola
A fresh, appealing and original red wine: Nero d’Avola enriched with native and international grape varieties, selected according to the vintage from the different varieties cultivated in the winery’s experimental vineyard.
Tasting Notes
Deep purple-red in color with violet reflections. Intense and fruity on the nose, with aromas of marasca cherry, cherry and plum, accompanied by pronounced spicy and ink-like notes.
Soft and velvety on the palate, with excellent drinkability. Savory, intense and well balanced.
Food Pairings
Excellent as an aperitif. Also well suited to vegetable-based appetizers, cured meats, white and red meats, fresh cheeses and medium-aged cheeses.
