GRAPE VARIETIES: Nero Cappuccio – Inzolia – Chardonnay
SOIL TYPES: Contrada Fondirò, Sillitti area: deep, organic-rich clay soil – Contrada Fondirò, Garcitella area: grey loamy-silty soil – Contrada Fondirò, Arena Vecchio area: at the highest part of the hillside, a limestone rock outcrop rises from the hill, surrounded by loamy-silty valley-floor soils.
TRAINING SYSTEM: Trellis system with spurred cordon and Guyot pruning.
HARVEST PERIOD: Chardonnay: late August – Inzolia and Nero Cappuccio: mid-September.
HARVESTING METHOD: Manual harvesting into 14 kg crates.WINEMAKING: The grapes are crushed and destemmed, then pressed using a closed-bladder pneumatic press. After rapid cold clarification, the must is transferred and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks.
MATURATION: In stainless-steel tanks, followed by bottle aging.
Young and fresh, with elegant fruitiness, Bianco di Nera is Milazzo’s white sparkling wine. It has a distinctive character derived from the winery’s short Charmat method, with a brief secondary fermentation in pressurized tanks designed to enhance its aromas and soft, immediate character in the glass.
Tasting Notes
Bright, deep straw yellow in color. Rich and complex on the nose, with prominent aromas of yellow tropical fruit, particularly pineapple and yellow peach, followed by floral notes of dandelion and acacia honey. Fresh and creamy on the palate, with delicate acidity.
Food Pairings
Ideal with appetizers, light first courses, fish and white meats.
