Terra da Mare

Appelation: Colli Maceratesi Rosso DOC
Grape variety: Sangiovese, Vernaccia Nera

A young red wine, a blend of Sangiovese and Vernaccia Nera, in which we use neither appassimento nor maturation in wood. The Sangiovese expresses its crisp fruit and mellows the bitter tannin sensation of the Vernaccia Nera, which brings its characteristic spiciness. A fresh wine, born from vineyards facing the sea, to be uncorked on warm summer evenings.

Vineyard: Cognoli, Croce
Training: spurred cordon, simple guyot
Yield per hectare: 50 hl
Harvest: manual, from mid-September to the second ten days of October
Vinification: de-stemming of grapes, fermentation in steel tanks with indigenous yeasts
Maturation and aging: 3 months in steel
Average alcohol content in: 13,5% ABV

Characteristics: vivid, captivating red-purple colour. Nose linked to red fruit and spice, true to the grape varieties used. The pleasant freshness and vibrant tannin, typical of young wines, stimulate the drinkability and make it pleasantly combinable with food

Food pairings: ideal with both land-based cuisine, from cured meats to meat dishes, and with seafood cuisine such as grilled octopus or octopus with potatoes, Moscioli (mussels), stockfish or fish soups

Serving recommendations: 12 - 16 °C depending on food pairings. Serve cooler with seafood cuisine
