The grape variety is what this wine is all about. The Vernaccia Nera manifests itself in its characterising aromas of red fruit and spicy notes. The minimum percentage of drying helps to soften the bitter tannic texture, maintaining its characteristic and vertical acidity.

Training: simple guyot
Yield per hectare: 42 hl
Harvest: manual, second to third decade of October, after summer thinning
Vinification: natural drying of part of the grapes (5% on average) for 2 months, destemming-crushing of the grapes, fermentation in steel with indigenous yeasts for 15 days at 24-26 °C
Maturation and aging: 18 months in steel, 20 months in 50 hl oak, 6 months in bottle
Avarage alcohol content in: 13,5% ABV
Characteristics: ruby red with garnet highlights. Elegant spiced notes of black pepper, juicy black cherry and plum jam, a floral hint of potpourri and a balsamic whiff. Very well balanced, with an integrated tannin and a spiced tasty long finish
Food pairings: pasta with meat sauce, Carbonara, Cacio e pepe, roast and grilled meats, legume soups
Serving recommendations: 16 - 18 °C
