Saggezza
Nebbiolo delle Colline NovaresiSAGGEZZA
Colline Novaresi D.O.C. Nebbiolo
Grape variety: 100% Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is the quintessential grape of Alto Piemonte, vinified by us as a single varietal and aged in oak barrels. Its name is said to derive from "nebbia" (fog) because of the patina that bloom, a waxy substance, creates on the grapes, or to refer to the late harvest period, in October, when the first autumn mists already hover over the vineyards.
Our Saggezzais made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in Ghemme, in soil rich in minerals of fluvial-alluvial origin and clay.
Ruby red in color with garnet highlights, it has an intense, complex aroma with hints of small red fruits. The flavor is dry, warm, soft, savory, and pleasantly enveloping with balanced tannins.
Aged for 6 months in stainless steel and 12 months in second-use oak barriques.
Excellent with medium-aged cheeses, cured meats, and white and red meat main courses.
To enhance Nebbiolo's complex structure, we recommend uncorking at least half an hour before serving and serving at a temperature of approximately 16-18°C.
The label was designed by artist Enrica Pedretti.
